Water | 2 Liter | |
Fettuccine | 200 Gram | |
Salt | 20 Gram | |
Olive oil | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Bacon | 75 Gram | |
Eggs | 2 | |
Egg yolk | 1 | |
Parmesan cheese | 50 Gram , grated (plus more for garnish) | |
Pepper | To Taste | |
Red chilli flakes | 1 Pinch (optional) |
FOR FETTUCCINE:
MAKING:
1.In a vessel, bring the water to boil.
2.Add the salt and fettuccine in the boiling water and let it boil till it's cooked al dente.
FOR BACON
MAKING:
1.Take a pan and add the olive oil.
2.Add the bacon (cut into small pieces) to the olive oil and cook them till they turn slightly brown in colour.
FOR THE SAUCE:
MAKING:
1.In a bowl, crack open 2 whole eggs.
2.Add only the yolk from the third egg and whisk them well.
3.Add the Parmesan cheese to the egg yolk mixture and whisk it.
4.Add very little black pepper and a tiny pinch of red chilli flakes to the above ingredients.
FOR CARBONARA:
MAKING:
1.Once the pasta is ready, get all of the pasta out on a strainer and strain the hot water.
2. Add the hot pasta to the sauce and carefully mix them together.
3.Add the bacon to the pasta.
SERVING:
4.Serve the carbonara with some pepper on the top and some grated Parmesan cheese.
