Learn how to make Maharashtrian style Katachi Amti from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani. Katachi Amti is a flavored Dal - Curry accompaniment with Puran Poli served during the festival of Holi.

Ingredients

Chana dal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Mustard seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Mix masala 1 Teaspoon
Curry leaves 15
Coriander leaves To Taste
Jaggery 1 Teaspoon
Kokum 5
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

MAKING:

1. Boil & churn the chana dal and keep it ready.

2. In a pan, add oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves & coriander leaves.

3. Add mix masala, turmeric powder, jaggery to the churned dal.

4. Add the dal to the tadka and mix everything well.

5. Add salt and kokum.

SERVING:

6. Bring the dal to a boil and serve hot!
