BEEF Chilli Fry - In my community, a chilly fry is just a thing - typically, it's made of Beef or Shrimp and is always quick and delicious. There are so many Chilli fry recipes out there - this one was born after I created my Goan Beef Roulade and needed to do something with the leftovers. It was so delicious that it needed to stand alone.
Kashmiri chillies | 8 , deseeded | |
For spice blend: | ||
Peppercorns | 1 Teaspoon | |
Cumin | 1 Teaspoon | |
Cinnamon stick | 2 Inch | |
Cloves | 6 | |
Garlic | 6 Clove (30 gm) | |
Ginger piece | 2 Inch | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Vinegar | 3 Tablespoon | |
For the beef chilli fry: | ||
Spice blend | 4 Teaspoon (above prepared spice blend) | |
Beef steak | 780 Gram (about 1.72 lbs) | |
Potato cubes | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Green chilli | 1 , slitted (slit in half) | |
Diced onions | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Freshly cracked black pepper | 1 Tablespoon | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Chopped coriander | 1 Tablespoon (for garnish) |
MAKING:
1.Prepare the spice blend by grinding all the dry spices first together and then all the wet ingredients.
2.Cut the Beef steak into small cubes and marinate with 4 tsps of the prepared paste.
3.Cut the Potato into cubes and fry it in some hot oil, remove and keep aside.
4.Add the onion and green chilli and follow with the beef.
5.Allow to cook and then add the potato back in.
6.Garnish with coriander.
SERVING:
