How to Make Cherry Hand Pies

You can make some delicious Cherry hand pies with this recipe simple recipe. You can use either fresh cherries, or you could use canned cherries if you desire. A simple pie crust is used and the pies are filled, brushed with an egg wash, and a light sprinkling of natural sugar is sprinkled on the top of the pies.

Ingredients

Cherries 1 Pound , pitted and chopped
Sugar 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
Salt 1 Pinch
Almond meal 2 Tablespoon
Almond extract 1/4 Teaspoon
Pie crust dough 1 Pound

Directions

GETTING READY

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. line a baking pan with a parchment paper and set aside.

 

MAKING

In a large bowl, add in all the ingredients, except the pie dough and toss well. Set aside.

Roll the pie dough and using a rolling pin. Cut the sheet using a bowl to make small circle.

Place the small sheets over the prepared baking pan; top with cherry mixture, grease with some egg wash and close with another sheet. Repeat the process with rest of the ingredients.

Make hole over the top by using a fork. Crimp the edges. If desired spread some egg wash over it and top with some raw sugar.

Bake for 30 minutes.

 

SERVING

Serve for dessert.
