Carne Guisada For The Slow Cooker

You can make delicious carne guisada in the slow cooker.

Ingredients

Beef chuck roast 2 1/2 Pound , dice
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste
Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
Chopped white onion 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Bell pepper 1 (((red, yellow, green)))
Seeded jalapeno pepper 1 , dice
Garlic 6 Clove (30 gm) , chop
Ground cumin 1 Tablespoon
Chili powder 2 Teaspoon
Dried oregano 1 Teaspoon
Low sodium chicken broth
Canned diced tomatoes 14 Ounce (((1 can)))
Flour 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Potatoes 1 Pound
Carrots 1/2 Pound

Directions

MAKING:

1.Season bite-sized chuck roast with salt and pepper.

2.Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet and cook seasoned meat until browned.

3.Once done, transfer the meat to slow cooker.

4.Add remaining oil to same skillet and saute onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper and garlic.

5.Add spices, flour and stir well to combine.

6.Once onions are well cooked, add chicken broth and stir well. Scrape the bottom and pour the sauce over meat in the slow cooker.

7.Cover with lid and cook on high for 4 hours.

8.Place potatoes and carrots on top and cook for another 1 hours.
