A super leftover recipe.
Cooked idlis | 2 | |
Oil | 3 Tablespoon ((For frying)) | |
Dry red chillies | 3 Teaspoon | |
Mustard seeds | 1 Teaspoon | |
Cumin seeds | 1 Teaspoon | |
Turmeric powder | 1 Pinch | |
Curry leaves | 5 Gram | |
Sesame seeds | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Chaat powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Paprika powder | 1 Pinch |
MAKING
1. On a chopping board, place the idlis and using a sharp knife slice them vertically and set them aside.
2. In a saucepan on medium heat, add oil, dry red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder and curry leaves. Temper it for a few seconds and add the idli slices. Stir fry for 1 minute on medium high.
3. Lower the heat and add sesame seeds, mix well and stir fry for another 2 minutes, gently flipping the idlis in between to get an even browning on both sides.
4. Sprinkle it with chaat and paprika powder, stir fry for a few seconds and then transfer it onto a serving plate.
SERVING
5. Serve the fried idlis with coriander and mint chutney and ketchup.
