Moong Dal Khichdi

Ingredients

Moong dal/Green gram 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 4 Cup (64 tbs)
Green chili paste 1/2 Teaspoon
Garlic paste 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon (((to taste)))
Ginger paste 1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1.Mix the rice and moong dal and wash it.

MAKING

2.Add into the rice cooker pot along with 4 cups of water.

3.Add green chili paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder and salt to taste.

4.Place the pot in the cooker and cook with lid half open stirring from time to time for about 20 - 30 minutes.

SERVING

5.Serve with papad, curry and raita if desired.
