Blondies... The original 'Brownie' before chocolate muscled in and took over. Here we do a version of a blondies recipe that features chocolate chips and pecans. Often they are called 'Blonde Brownies' or Blondie Brownies'... we just call them delicious!
Butter | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (1 1/2 sticks / 175g) | |
Firmly packed brown sugar | 2 Cup (32 tbs) (500 mL / 360g) | |
Eggs | 2 | |
Pure vanilla extract | 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) | |
All purpose flour | 2 Cup (32 tbs) (500 mL / 320g) | |
Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon (10 ml) | |
Coarse salt | 1 Teaspoon (5 mL / 7g) | |
Semi sweet chocolate chips | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 mL / 180g) | |
Chopped pecans | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 mL / 120g) |
GETTING READY:
1.Preheat oven to 350F (180ºC).
2.Grease an 9x9" baking pan and line with a parchment paper sling.
MAKING:
3.Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
4.Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
5.Mix in flour mixture.
6.Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
7.Spread into prepared pan.
8.Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in centre comes out almost clean.
9.Cool in pan on wire rack.
SERVING:
