Homemade dinner rolls add the perfect touch to your holiday table. Leftover Parker House rolls make great sandwiches, too!
Active dry yeast | 1/4 Ounce (1 envelope) | |
Warm water | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (110F) | |
Soft butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (plus more for topping) | |
Sugar | 3 Tablespoon | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Whole milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) , warmed to around 110ºf | |
Egg | 1 | |
All purpose flour | 4 Cup (64 tbs) (plus more for kneading) | |
For topping: | ||
Melted butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Flaky salt | 1/2 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY:
1.Preheat oven to 350F.
2.Brush baking pan with melted butter.
MAKING:
3.In a large bowl, combine yeast with warm water and whisk well. Allow to stand for 5 minutes.
4.Add sugar, butter, salt and whisk well. Add warm milk and stir until butter melts.
5.Add eggs and mix well.
6.Add flour and mix until dough ball forms. Transfer to flour dusted board and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
7.Place into greased bowl, cover with cling film and allow to rise for 1 hours.
8.Divide dough into 4 pieces and roll as shown in the video. Brush with butter and arrange in pan. Sprinkle with salt, cover with cling film and pop into refrigerator for 30 minutes.
9.Pop into oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
