Chicken Marsala is an easy to make chicken dish that everyone loves. This is filled with meaty chicken breasts, Marsala wine, mushrooms, and onions. You can put this together in no time, and it goes well with mashed potatoes, pasta, or even polenta.
Cake flour | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Fresh ground black pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Dried oregano | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Oil | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Butter | 4 Tablespoon (1/2 stick) | |
Boneless skinless chicken breast halves | 4 | |
Sliced fresh mushrooms | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Onion | 1 Medium , thinly sliced (Optional) | |
Dry marsala wine | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) |
MAKING
1. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix well.
2. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture and shake off the excess. Set aside.
3.In a large skillet, heat oil, place chicken in it and cook for about 3-4 minutes or until lightly brown on each side.
4. After you flip the chicken add the mushrooms and onion (if using) around the chicken pieces.
5. Remove the chicken pieces from the skillet and set aside. Stir the mushrooms. Add wine and butter. Cover the pan, and simmer for about 10 minutes.
SERVING
6. Spoon sauce over chicken and serve hot with cooked pasta.
