Sweet potato biscuits are healthy and delicious and a great compliment to fall and winter stew!
Sweet potato | 1/2 Pound , cooked until soft, peeled, mashed to 3/4th of cup | |
Milk | 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) | |
Whole wheat flour | 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs) | |
Baking powder | 4 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Nutmeg | 1 Dash (optional) | |
Butter | 3 Tablespoon |
GETTING READY:
1.Preheat oven to 450F.
MAKING:
2.In a large bowl, combine mashed potato, milk and mix well. Set aside.
3.In another bowl, combine wheat flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and mix well.
4.Grate butter into flour mixture and mix well.
5.Add potato mixture and mix well to make a dough ball.
6.Transfer to a floured surface and pat to inch thick sheet.
7.Cut into biscuits using a cookie cutter and place on baking sheet.
8.Pop into oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
