Try this gluten free snack, roasted garbanzo nuts for a lower fat option. Make them sweet, make them spicy or both!
Canned chickpeas | 20 Ounce , drained, rinsed (2 cans) | |
Extra virgin olive oil | 1 Teaspoon | |
Sea salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Cayenne pepper/Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Non stick cooking spray | 1 Dash |
GETTING READY
1. Line a baking sheet with foil. Set aside.
2. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
3. Using paper towel blot the chickpeas of any water after rinsing.
MAKING
4. On the prepared baking sheet spread the chickpeas and roast for 10 minutes.
5. Transfer it into a bowl and add olive oil. Toss well till all are coated. Season with sea salt and toss again, then season with cayenne or cinnamon or both and toss once again till coated.
6. Spray the baking sheet with cooking spray and spread the seasoned chickpeas. Roast again for another 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
SERVING
7. Serve the chickpeas cold or warm or store in an air tight container.
