Eggnog Cheesecake

Eggnog cheesecake makes a great holiday and picnic dessert. In all the different eggnog cheesecake recipes, the inclusion of liqueur is a must, for example rum or cognac. Eggnog which is the main ingredient for this recipe can be replaced by egg yolks at times. The crust of the cheesecake is prepared from cracker crumbs, but cookies can be crushed and added to the mixture as well. The batter consists of cream cheese, eggnog, vanilla essence, pudding mix, rum and the topmost layer is formed by pouring nutmeg evenly over the batter. Baking the cake in a springform pan is another vital part of this recipe. The cheesecake is cooled for several hours and extra cracker crumb mixture can be placed at the edge of the baked cake. Simply whipped cream or some reserved cookies or crackers are used for garnishing the eggnog cheesecake.
