Lamb Liver for Health

Lamb liver is a great source of protein and Vitamin A. One serving would generally contain 23 g of protein, which is 46 percent of the recommended daily amount of a normal human adult. Liver is also rich in iron with one serving containing 46 percent of a daily recommended amount of iron. Lamb liver is not advisable for people suffering from high cholesterol though as it contains high amount of fat.

 

Usage of Lamb Liver

One of the dishes in demand is Braised Liver with Onions. It is prepared by frying sliced lamb livers coated with flour in onion gravy. Another popular dish is Lambs liver in gravy with onions and mushrooms that is served with mashed potatoes, sometimes with vegetables like peas on the side. Lamb liver is also cooked in vegetable broth with lots of vegetables and served with pasta, or sometimes pasta cooked in the broth itself. Lamb liver also happens to be a part of Mediterranean cuisine that boasts of dishes like Lamb Liver in Mint or Garlic Marinade and Balsamic Glazed Lamb Liver. In Asia, Lamb liver is generally fried with lots of spices like coriander, chili, and curry powder.
