Onion Bhaji

Onion bhaji is a spicy dish made using onions and spices. This dish is predominantly popular in India cuisine, where it is commonly served as an accompaniment to puris or rotis. The onion bhaji gets its flavor from a tempering made of curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Sliced onions are added to this tempering and sautéed till soft. At times other vegetables like peas, potatoes, tomatoes, etc are also added to enhance the flavor and create variety. Most onion bhaji recipes use big white onions but a combination of white onions and shallots are also used by some. Onion bhaji is a simple dish which can be made in a jiffy and forms a part of Indian meals almost every day.
