Fried Ice Cream

Fried Ice Cream is a non-traditional dessert, with its Mexican and Asian style preparations. Fried ice cream is made by taking a scoop of frozen ice cream, which is given a vanilla, cookie crumb, cornflake or raw egg coating and is then deep fried. A tempura batter can also be used for the coating, which is widely popular with the Chinese and Japanese. Asians love different flavors on fried ice cream, among which red bean, vanilla and green tea tops the chart. Fried ice cream is best served with whipped cream or honey or both and with a cherry topping.
