Endive, Apple, and Walnut Salad

Shelled walnuts 3/4 Ounce , coarsely broken
Belgian endives 3 (White Variety)
Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
Tart apple 2 (Sweet Variety)
Extra virgin olive oil
Sherry wine vinegar 1/2 Teaspoon
Kosher salt To Taste
Fresh black pepper 1/4 Teaspoon (Use A Few Grinds)



1. Start by preheating the oven to 375°F


2. On a baking sheet, sprinkle the walnuts n a single layer, and toast for 7 to 8 minutes, till it's sightly browned and crispy

3. Transfer the toast to another pan and then set it aside to cool completely

take the endives and slice off the root end, then cut each in half lengthwise

4. Take a large knife , and use it to cut the endives into julienne by slicing them very thin, now and put the endive in a bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice

5. Take the apples and core, peel, and halve them, also cut each apples half in thin slices and then into matchstick-size julienne, in a bowl, add the apples to the bowl with the endive, also add the walnuts, olive oil, and vinegar and season to taste with salt and pepper


6. Toss and serve immediately with a sacue of your choice or bread
