Buttermilk Waffle Recipe

Light and airy on the inside - crispy on the outside, and perfect with powdered sugar or maple syrup!


Eggs 3
Buttermilk 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Melted butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
All purpose flour
Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
Superfine sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Salt 1 Teaspoon



Pre-heat waffle iron. 

Whisk together flour, sugar and salt into a large mixing bowl and make a well in the centre. 

Whisk together eggs, buttermilk and vegetable oil in a large jug until well combined. 

Whisk egg & buttermilk mixture Into flour mixture to form a batter; with just a few lumps. 

If batter is too thick, stir in an extra 1-2 Tbsp of buttermilk. 

Pour 1⁄2 cup of batter into each waffle square and close lid to cook. 

Repeat with remaining batter.
