Betty demonstrates how to make Bacon Waffles. These waffles make a complete breakfast, especially when paired with Slow Cooker Apple Butter from a previous video in Betty's Kitchen.
All purpose flour | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Eggs | 2 , separated | |
Buttermilk | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
Butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , melted | |
Sliced bacon | 1/2 Pound , fried until crisp and then crumbled | |
Cooking oil spray | 1 Teaspoon |
MAKING
1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
2. In a medium bowl beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and then add buttermilk and butter. Beat well.
4. Add egg yolk mixture to flour mixture and stir until combined.
5. Gently fold beaten egg whites into batter.
6. Add crumbled bacon and fold to combine.
7. Preheat and grease waffle iron with cooking oil spray and cook waffles until browned.
SERVING
8. Serve with apple butter, honey, or maple syrup and enjoy!
