Romaine make a great combination in the garden, and on your plate!
Romaine is a classic for Caesar salads, leaves are upright with white hearts.
Dill is great seed saving plant, but once it flowers and goes to seed, the plant will die
To make a tasty and low | fat utilizing both romaine and dill, you'll start with | |
1 head of Romaine lettuce | ||
olive oil | ||
salt | ||
black pepper | ||
Then for the dressing, you'll use | ||
• 1/2 cup of reduced fat mayonnaise | ||
• 1/3 cup of chopped green onions | ||
• 1 clove of garlic | ||
• 1 tablespoon of minced fresh dill | ||
• 1/2 cup of nonfat plain yogurt | ||
• 3 tablespoons of tarragon vinegar | ||
• 1/4 teaspoon of salt | ||
• Freshly ground pepper, to taste |
Simply rinse and dry the whole head of romaine.Liberally coat with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt and black pepper.Place lettuce on hot side of grill. Grill for 2 or 3 minutes on each side or until nicely charred.
Add all ingredients into a blender or food processor and combine until well mixed, then dress your grilled romaine and enjoy this delicious dish!
