Turnip Greens with Turnips

Ingredients

Turnip greens 2 Pound
Bacon slices 8
Turnips 3 Medium , peeled and sliced
Sugar 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Wash the turnip well and drain excess water.

2. Tear them into bite size pieces.

MAKING

3. In a Dutch oven add bacon and greens. Add water and cover. Boil.

4. Reduce heat when boiling and simmer for 20 minutes.

5. Stir sugar, salt and turnips.

6. Cook for 30 minutes more till the turnips are cooked.

SERVING

7. Serve Turnip greens with turnips sprinkled with turnips.
