Healthy Version Of Grilled Texas Turkey Burgers

This is a simple recipe with great flavors. It is easy to make and can be spiced up to your liking. Makes a perfect main meal too!


Extra lean ground turkey 1 Pound
Reduced sodium barbecue sauce 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Green chilies 4 , chopped finely
Fat free cheese slice 4
Whole wheat hamburger buns 4 , split
Tomato 2 Medium , slice (Optional)
Lettuce leaves 4 Medium (Optional)



1. Heat the grill.


2. In a large bowl, mix turkey, barbecue sauce, chilies and salt. Shape mixture into 4 patties, each about 1 inch thick.

3. Grill patties for 14 to 16 minutes, turning once, until turkey is no longer pink in center. About 1 minute before burgers are done, top each with cheese slice. Grill until cheese is melted.


4. Serve on toasted buns with sliced raw vegetables.
