Lean pork 1 Pound , ground
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Pepper 1/2 Teaspoon
Ground nutmeg 1/4 Teaspoon
Ground mace 1/8 Teaspoon
Cornstarch 2 Teaspoon
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Pastry 1 , unbaked (For 2 Crust 8 Inch Pie)


Combine all ingredients except pastry.

Blend thoroughly.

Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.

Roll out pastry and use half to line an ungreased 8-inch pie pan.

Pour meat mixture into pan.

Cover pie with remaining pastry and seal edge with water.

Prick with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking.

Bake in preheated hot oven (425° F.) for 10 minutes.

Reduce heat to moderate (350°F.) and bake for 35 minutes longer, or until top is brown.

Makes 6 servings.
