Fried Green Tomatoes and Mozzarella

Eggs 2
Finely ground cornmeal 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Freshly ground black pepper 1 Teaspoon
Grated parmesan cheese/Romano cheese 2 Tablespoon
Butter/Oil 3 Tablespoon
Fresh mozzarella cheese 8 Ounce , sliced into 1/2 inch wheel
Green tomatoes 2 , sliced into 1/2 inch wheel



1. Preheat over to 350°F.


2. In a flat-bottomed dish, beat eggs until fluffy.

3. In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, pepper, and cheese.

4. In a saucepan, heat butter over medium heat.

5. When butter is foamy, dip tomato slices, both sides, into egg, and then into cornmeal.

6. Fry quickly, for about 3 minutes on each side, adding more butter if required.

7. Transfer to foil-lined baking sheet, pat with paper towel to absorb grease, and bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes or until well done.

8. Repeat process with cheese, frying until golden.


9. Arrange Fried Green Tomatoes and Mozzarella on 2 plates, garnish with grated cheese and serve hot.
