A great Valentine's Day treat for you and your loved ones. This homemade toffee is irresistible and perfect to wrap up and share with all your friends
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Almonds||1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Chocolate chips||12 Ounce|
|Sea salt flakes||1 Pinch|
Chop the almonds using a food processor or on the chopping board.
Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper
Take a handful of chopped almonds and sprinke them on the sheet.
Take a big stainless steel pan or pot, place it on the stove and set the heat to Low.
Add butter, salt, sugar, and mix.
Turn the heat up to medium to high and bring the butter mix to a boil. Keep stirring gently.
Once the mixture (caramel) is light golden brown, atke it off the stove
Pour the caramel on to the cookie sheet and spread it out.
While the toffee or caramel is still hot, add some chocolate chips.
Once the chocolate melts, take a spatula and spread out the chocolate layer.
Before the chocolate cools completely, sprinkle the remaining chopped almonds on top.
Add a dash of sea salt flakes.
Let it cool for a bit, refrigration will speed up the process.
Once hardened, remove from the regrigerator and cut into squares.
