Corn and Cheese Toast (Calcium Rich Recipe)

Kids are sure to have this delicious calcium rich corn and cheese toast. Serve this easy to make recipe when your child comes home hungry...


Wheat bread slices 4 , toasted
Sweet corn kernels 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , boiled
Processed cheese 2 Tablespoon
Butter 1 Tablespoon
Onion 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , finely chopped
Plain flour 2 Teaspoon
Milk 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Capsicum 2 Tablespoon , finely chopped
Mixed herbs 1/2 Teaspoon
Mustard powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste



1. In a nonstick frying pan, heat butter, add onion, saute over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Add plain flour and cook for few seconds.

2. Add milk and mix well till no lumps remain, allow to cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add capsicum and herbs, mix well, and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes.

3. Add cheese, mix and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add mustard powder, corn and salt, stir to mix, cook for a while until the sauce is thick. Allow to cool.

4. Cut each bread slice into 2 pieces and apply the prepared topping.


5. Top with little tomato sauce and serve.
