Spiced Green Tea Ice Cream

Half and half 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Green tea 1 Tablespoon (Top
Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Orange 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Whipping cream 1 Pint
Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Lemon peel 1 Teaspoon , freshly grated
Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Ground nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Ground ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Green food coloring/3 drops liquid food coloring 1 Teaspoon


In a small saucepan, heat half and half over low heat until hot.

Add tea; remove from heat.

Steep 5 minutes.

Strain through a fine strainer into a large bowl.

Discard tea leaves.

Stir sugar and honey into hot mixture until dissolved; cool to room temperature.

Stir in remaining ingredients.

Chill ice cream base; freeze in an ice cream machine according to manufacturer's directions.
