Double Crusted Apple Tart

Perfect for Valentines Day! Our double Crusted Apple Tart will be perfect for Valentines Day or any day. Beautiful presentation, extra sweet stuffed crust and tart apples arranged to look like it came from the Bakery shop!

Ingredients

Crisco 1 Tablespoon ((for greasing))
Apple 2
Pie crust 2
Brown sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
White sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cold butter 1 Tablespoon
Flour 1 Tablespoon
Cinnamon 1/2 Tablespoon
Lemon juice 1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Prepare the grill.

2. Grease a tart pan with crisco and set aside.

MAKING

3. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, white sugar, flour and cinnamon. Mix well.

4. Gently unroll a pie crust and place it in the greased pie tin. Spread half of the brown sugar mixture on the bottom of the pie dish. place the butter cubes on top.

5. Gently unroll the second pie crust and carefully place it on top as shown in the video.

6. Create vents in the second layer of the pie crust using a knife for the steam to escape.

7. Roll up a sheet of silver foil to create a pipe like roll and then bend it slightly to form a semi circle. Place it in side the pie pan. Create another semi circle with a sheet of silver foil and place it on the other half of the pie crust as shown in the video.

8. Gently roll the edge over the silver foil to form a pattern on the edge.

9. Place the pie crust on the grill and allow to cook for 5-8 minutes.

10. Meanwhile, peel the apples and cut into thin 1/8th inch slices and drizzle with lemon juice. Add the remaining brown sugar mixture to the apples and mix well.

11. Carefully remove the foil from the baked pie crust and start building layers of sliced apples in the pie crust as shown in the video.

12. Place the pie on the at 350 degrees for about 25 to 35 minutes.

SERVING

13. Slice and serve.
