How to make a fruit tart. Fruit tart is a perfect summer dessert and will work with just about any type of fruit or berries. Easy sweet pastry crust with custard/pastry cream.
|Baked tart shell||1 (8|
|For pastry cream:|
|Half and half||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Butter||2 Tablespoon , cut into pats|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Sliced fruit||1 Cup (16 tbs) (of your choice)|
1.In a bowl, combine egg yolk, salt, sugar, flour and whisk well.
2.Heat a saucepot and add half and half to it. Once it simmers, turn off heat and add scoops of mixture with egg mixture in small batches. Whisk well to combine.
3.Place on low flame and allow the mixture to thicken gradually.
4.Cook over medium heat and whisk for 6-8 minutes.
5.Increase heat and cook until large bubbles begin to appear. Turn off heat and add butter pats. Whisk until melted and add vanilla extract.
6.Pour into bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Chill for 2-48 hours before assembling.
7.Place pastry cream over tart shell and spread well and garnish with fresh fruits.
8.Serve and enjoy!
