Here's a quick and easy recipe for Nutella and Cinnamon toaster pastries, also known as pop tarts or toaster strudels. These are made with a light and flaky crust- balanced perfectly by the rich Nutella and aromatic cinnamon. The vanilla glaze adds a perfect finish.
Shortcrust pastry/Puff pastry | 1 (pie dough) | |
Nutella/Chocolate spread | 6 Tablespoon (1 tbsp per pop tart) | |
Cinnamon | 3/4 Teaspoon (1/8 tsp per pop tart) | |
Heavy cream | 1 Tablespoon | |
Granulated sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
Confectioners' sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon (1 tsp for every cup of sugar) | |
Milk | 2 Tablespoon (2 tbsp for every cup of sugar) |
GETTING READY:
Preheat oven to 375°F/ 200°C.
Line baking tray with parchment paper.
MAKING:
Roll the pastry to 1/4cm thickness and cut even shapes using pizza cutter as shown in the video.
Place on baking tray, spread nutella and sprinkle cinnamon over dough squares.
Brush with heavy cream or egg wash. Make edges using fork as shown in the video.
Brush with heavy cream and sprinkle sugar.
Pop into oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
For glaze, combine sugar, vanilla and milk. Drizzle over tarts.
