Easy Vanilla Sugar Cookies

Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs) , softened
Sugar 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Vanilla 2 Teaspoon
Eggs 2
All purpose flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Baking powder 2 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon


1. Beat butter or margarine, sugar, vanilla and eggs in a large bowl until light and fluffy.

2. Measure flour, baking powder and salt into sifter. Sift into creamed mixture; stir until well blended.

3. Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto greased cooky sheets (or, shape into 1-inch balls; press to a 1/4-inch thickness with a glass that has been buttered on the bottom, then dipped in sugar).

4. Bake in a hot oven (400°) 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from cooky sheets with spatula, to wire racks; cool.
