Betty's English Toffee with White Chocolate and Almonds -- Christmas

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make English Toffee with White Chocolate and Almonds. This is a treat for Christmas!


Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
White chocolate chips 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sliced almonds 2 1/2 Ounce , toasted



1. In a heavy pot, melt butter and stir in sugar, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 300 degree F or the hard crack stage.

2. Into a 13-inch by 9-inch by 2-inch ungreased pan, immediately pour the mixture and spread out.

3. While the mixture is hot, sprinkle white chocolate chips evenly over the top. When chocolate begin to melt, spread the chips until smooth.

4. Sprinkle toasted almond slices and press down firmly, using hands or bottom of a heavy pot. Pop the pan in refrigerator and chill for 1 hour, or until toffee is set.


5. Turn toffee out into a large sheet pan and break into serving pieces.


6. Serve and enjoy!
