Panch Phoron Spice Mix

Panch means five and phoron means seasoning or tempering known as bagar or tadka in India. Panch phoron is a special blend of spices used in Bengali and Assamese cuisine. It can be used to season paneer, vegetables and lentils. Each and every spice included in this spice mix has many health benefits.

Ingredients

Mustard seeds 1 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds 1 Tablespoon
Fenugreek seeds 1 Tablespoon
Fennel seeds 1 Tablespoon
Nigella seeds 1 Tablespoon

Directions

MAKING

1. Mix all the spices in a bowl or a container.

SERVING

2. Store in airtight container if desired.

3. Use for tempering or seasoning into dals, paneer, etc.
