Betty demonstrates how to make Fresh Tomato Salsa. This salsa is made in a food processor and is comprised of fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic, a variety of peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and seasoning. This is a great summer dip for tortilla chips.
Ripe tomatoes | 4 Medium , peeled (coarsely chopped) | |
Fresh cilantro leaves | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , coarsely chopped, with juices | |
Onion | 1/2 Small , finely chopped | |
Green bell pepper | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , coarsely chopped, with juices | |
Red bell pepper | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , coarsely chopped, with juices | |
Serrano peppers | 2 , mince | |
Lime juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
Coarse salt | To Taste (freshly ground) | |
Freshly ground black peppercorns | To Taste |
Making
Place tomatoes, cilantro, onion, green and red bell pepper, serrano peppers, lime juice, salt, and pepper, in bowl of food processor.
Pulse, until sauce is pureed, but still has some small chunks.
Taste for seasoning, and add more salt and pepper, if needed.
Serving
Pour into a bowl and serve with corn tortilla chips.
