Ham and Marrow Soup

Marrow/Courgettes 8 Ounce (225 Grams)
Chicken stock/Pork stock 2 Pint (1.1 Liter)
Parma ham/Lean english smoked bacon 2 Ounce (50 Grams)
Chili bean sauce/Chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Light soy sauce 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon (For Garnish)
Sesame oil 1 Teaspoon



1. Wash and clean the marrow or courgettes and scoop up the center of the marrow to remove the seeds that are present. Cut the cleaned vegetable into1/2 inch (1cm) cubes.


2. In a large stock pot, put in the water and bring to the boil.

3. Add the ham or bacon, marrow or courgettes to the pot and then simmer uncovered, for 15 minutes.

4. Pour in the sesame oil and stir well till combined


5. Serve the soup in a large tureen
