How to Make Homemade Soda

How to make soda at home with just a few simple ingredients.


Orange zest 3 Tablespoon
Granulated sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Yeast 1/8 Teaspoon (champagne)
Orange juice 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Water 7 Cup (112 tbs)



In a pot, mix cup water, sugar and orange zest. Simmer on low for 2 hours.

Meantime, squeeze the orange juice.

Slightly cool the sugar syrup and strain in the jug with orange juice.

In a bpa free jug, fill 7 cups of water, sugar syrup and yeast.

Shake the jug gently to mix all the ingredients.

Leave the jug at room temperature for 12-48 hours without shaking or touching it.


Chill and serve


You can strain out the yeast, if desired.

For cream soda, you can add vanilla and/or cream.

You can use bread yeast (a pinch) or brewers yeast.

You can add soad extract for more intense flavor.
