Growing up in Arizona and living in the Middle East means that I can hardly go a week without enjoying a fresh date, and this apple and date smoothie is a brilliant way to start a fall morning. Sweet and creamy, it is like drinking autumn in a glass. Im using Stemilt Fuji Apples for this recipe because they have a flavor that resembles freshly pressed apple juice.
Ingredients
Low fat vanilla yogurt | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Water | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Fuji apple | 1 (Stemilt) | |
Dates | 5 | |
Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Nutmeg | 1 Pinch |
GETTING READY
1. Chop and seed apples and dates.
MAKING
2. In blender, add chopped apple, dates, yogurt, water, cinnamon and nutmeg. Blend until smooth.
SERVING
3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
