The best way to gain back vital nutrients post a workout session in the gym is by making yourself a yummy fruit smoothie. Easy, quick and totally energizing.
Strawberries | 8 (Reserve 2 for garnishing) | |
Banana | 1 | |
Honey | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Ice cubes | 6 | |
Low fat strawberry yogurt | 2 Tablespoon | |
Skimmed milk | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Flax seed | 2 Teaspoon , toasted |
MAKING
1. Combine strawberry, banana, honey, yogurt, ice and milk in a blender and blend till smooth.
2. Pour into 2 glasses and serve cold.
SERVING
3. Top with a dollop of fat free whipped topping (optional); use a whole strawberry to decorate the glass.
4. My special touch - sprinkle a teaspoon of toasted flax seed on top of the smoothie to add crunch and enhance nutritional value.
