Buffalo shrimp, kinda like Hooters but better because it's made with love and not just boobs. Lightly battered and fried shrimp in Buffalo sauce, served with blue cheese dressing.
Shrimp | 1 Pound , peeled, deveined, tails left (21 | |
Unsalted butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
Red hot sauce | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (Frank's) | |
Habanero sauce | 1 Dash (for extra spice) | |
Eggs | 2 | |
Water | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Flour | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Seasoned salt | 1 Tablespoon (spicy, I use Tony Chachere's) | |
Vegetable oil | 2 Cup (32 tbs) (for frying (canola, corn, peanut, grapeseed) | |
Lemon wedges | 2 (for serving) |
MAKING:
In a saucepan, melt butter and add red hot sauce and habanero sauce. Heat on low flame and stir to combine. Once done, keep the sauce aside.
In a small bowl, combine egg and water. Whisk well.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
Dip the shrimp into egg mixture and dredge into flour mixture one after the other.
Place the coated shrimps in a bowl and pop into refrigerator.
Heat oil to 375°F in a deep pot.
Deep fry shrimps in batches until golden brown for approximately 3 minutes.
Allow to drain excess oil using paper towels.
Drizzle prepared sauce before serving. Garnish with lemon wedge.
SERVING:
Serve with any dressing and enjoy!
