Semolina Shortbread

Plain flour 5 Ounce
Fine semolina 2 Ounce
Salt 1 1/4 Pinch (good pinch)
Butter/Margarine 4 Ounce
Castor sugar 2 Ounce



1. Start by preheating the oven to 350ºF


2. In a bowl, place the first 3 ingredeints and sift it together

2. In another bowl, now cream the fat and sugar, until they turn soft, then stir this mixture into the dry ingredeints

3. Take the dough and knead it together , invert on a flavoured board, roll into 1/4 inch thickness

4. Place the dough, and cut it into rounds, use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut it

5. In a greased baking dish, place the dough pieces and bake in the center for 15-20 minutes

6. Once baked completely, let it cool on the baking tray and sprinkle castor sugar over


7. Serve with cream or coffee
