Sesame Snaps is an old fashioned treat. Its a hard toffee with toasted sesame seeds mixed in. I remember having this as a child, but I dont see it much these days. If you like old fashioned crisp toffee, youll love this - give it a go!
Sesame seeds | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (about 150g approx.) | |
Castor sugar | 1 1/3 Cup (21.33 tbs) (Super Fine White Sugar) | |
Glucose syrup | 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) (corn syrup) |
MAKING:
Heat a dry frying pan and toast over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
Once done, transfer to a bowl.
In a saucepan, combine castor sugar, corn syrup and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Bring to boil for 7-8 minutes and turn off heat.
Add sesame seeds and mix well.
Pour over parchment paper and cover with another one.
Flatten using rolling pin and remove the paper.
Allow to cool and break into pieces.
