Spicy Salty Squid

Well, the holidays are now over so its time to get back to our regularly scheduled program and make Asian dishes once again! This week, we show you how to make a favorite of yoursspicy and salty squid its actually pretty easy and tasty!


Squid 1 Pound , cleaned, gutted
Flour 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Chilli powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Chilli pepper 1 Small , chopped finely
Salt To Taste
Eggs 2 Medium
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (deep frying)



1. Clean the squid and cut it into little rings . Set aside.

2. In a bowl beat the 2 eggs. Set aside.

3. In a wide mouthed plate, take the flour.


4. In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 360 degrees F.

5. Dip the squid rings into the beaten eggs. Then dip them into the flour.

6. Deep-fry in oil until golden brown. Remove squid from oil and transfer them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

7. In another pan, heat up some salt, chili powder, and diced chili pepper without any oil until the salt starts to turn brown.

8. Sprinkle heated spices over squid in a separate bowl and toss to flavor. Repeat if desired and necessary.


9. In a serving plate, arrange the squid and serve them hot with any dip of choice for appetizer or as snack or as main dish with rice or salad.
