Healthy Version Of Bratwurst In Sour Cream

This is a classic American recipe that can be made in a jiffy for family and friends. It is a complete meal in itself and is well balanced in terms of its protein and carbohydrate content. A hearty meal that is the perfect comfort food.


Reduced sodium lean turkey bratwurst 2 Pound
Onions 2 Medium , sliced
Whole wheat flour 2 Tablespoon
Salt free spice 1/2 Teaspoon
Apple cider 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Low fat sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cooked noodles 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Low fat butter 1 Teaspoon



1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.


2. Brown the bratwurst in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove the Bratwurst and keep warm.

3. Add 1 teaspoon of butter to the frying pan and saute the onions until they are soft and pink.

4. Sprinkle the wheat flour over the onions and cook, stirring for 5 minutes.

5. Blend in the apple cider and salt free spice and cook until bubbly.

6. Return the bratwurst to the pan, cover and simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.

7. Blend some of the apple cider sauce with the low fat sour cream and return the mixture to the pan.

8. Keep stirring until the sauce is hot.


9. Serve over boiled noodles.
