In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Traditional Cranberry Sauce. This is the perfect accompaniment for turkey or ham at Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Fresh cranberries | 2 Cup (32 tbs) , rinsed | |
Water | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Honey | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Orange zest | 2 Tablespoon | |
Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Ground cloves | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Ground ginger | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
For garnish | ||
Mint sprigs | 2 |
MAKING
1. In a medium-sized heavy pot, combine cranberries and water. Place the pot on medium flame and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, stir occasionally and cook for 8-10 minutes or until cranberries pop up.
2. Remove the pot from heat and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
3. Add honey, orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Stir well. Into a bowl, transfer the sauce and garnish with mint sprigs.
SERVING
4. Serve warm or cold with turkey or ham.
