Homemade Garlic Tomato Sauce (For Pizza & Pasta)

Why buy ready made sauces when you can make it at home in a jiffy? Yes, here is a basic recipe for homemade sauce that would complement well with your regular pasta and pizzas. It saves you money and moreover, you know what you are actually consuming. Go ahead and give it a try!


Olive oil 1 Teaspoon
Crushed garlic 9 Gram (about 6
Ground pepper 1/4 Teaspoon
Tomato puree 260 Gram (from about 6 medium sized tomatoes)
Italian seasoning 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon



1. Heat oil in a sauce pan and add garlic and pepper powder. Saute for a minute taking care garlic does not burn.

2. Keep the heat at high and add the tomato puree. Let it boil and reduce the heat. Add Italian seasoning and salt. Stir occasionally.

3. Let the sauce reduce to a slightly thicker consistency. Your sauce is ready when it turns deeper red in color and attains the consistency. This might take close to 6-8 minutes.


4. Transfer to air tight container. Use as pasta or pizza sauce.
