Betty's Magic Shell Chocolate Ice Cream Topping

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Magic Shell Chocolate Ice Cream Topping. This is chocolate ice cream topping that hardens within a minute of putting it on top of ice cream or other frozen treat (like frozen yogurt).

Ingredients

Semisweet chocolate chips 6 Ounce (1 cup)
Coconut oil 1 Ounce (1/8 cup)

Directions

MAKING

1. In a medium sized microwave-safe bowl, place semisweet chocolate chips and coconut oil.

2. Pop the bowl in microwave at 50% power for 1 minute, stir. Continue to heat at 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until mixture is melted and smooth.

SERVING

3. Remove from microwave and pour over ice cream. Allow to harden for 30-60 seconds and serve.

TIPS

Store leftover sauce in an airtight jar.

The sauce will be fresh at room temperature for up to 1 week.

When ready to serve reheat jar (without lid) in microwave at 50% power until warm.

You can make sauce of any flavor using different kind of chips like butterscotch or peanut butter.
