Sausage Sandwiches with Mustard Sauce

Butter 2 Tablespoon
Onions 2 , sliced
Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm) , minced
All purpose flour 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Chicken broth 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Catsup 2 Tablespoon
Dijon mustard 2 Tablespoon
Prepared horseradish 1 Tablespoon
Italian sausage/Polish sausage 1 1/2 Pound , cut into 1.4 inch slices
Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
French rolls 4 (Of 10 Inch Size)



1) Into a skillet, melt the butter and with the lid on cook the garlic and onion and saute till soft

2) Take off the cover and saute for an additional 20 minutes

3) Add in the flour and briskly stir to cook the flour

4) Add in the broth and stirring constantly allow the mixture to simmer over a medium heat till the sauce is thickened

5) Add in the catsup, mustard and the horseradish and mix well

6) Take off from the heat and keep aside to cool

7) Into a skillet, add the oil and fry the sausages till evenly browned and drain onto absorbent kitchen towel

8) Into the mustard sauce add in the sausage

9) Using sharp knife, cut the French rolls, spoon the sausage mixture into the bread

10) Put the top of the roll and cut the roll into half


11) Serve the rolls onto 8 quarter plates with some mayonnaise to dip
