Orange Mixed Dark Rum Sauce

Ingredients

Granulated sugar 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Firmly packed light brown sugar
Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Lemon wedge 1
Orange wedge 1
Dark rum 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)

Directions

MAKING

1. In a medium saucepan, place the sugar and the water and mix well

2. Cook this mixture over medium heat while stirring continuously to make sure that the sugar is dissolved

3. Add the lemon and the orange wedges and bring this mixture to the boil again. Boil uncovered for 20 minutes and then remove the fruit from the pan. Discard the fruit.

4. Just before serving, add rum to the pan and heat again over very low heat till the vapor rises. Remove from heat and ignite with a match.

SERVING

5. Serve hot with flaming sauce over the Mincemeat Turnovers
