Filet O Fish Sandwich recipe - better than McDonald's! Try this fried fish sandwich, or bake it for a lighter fish sandwich. It's great either way with tartar sauce and a squishy bun!

For fish filets:
Tilapia fillets 2 Large (about 1.25 pounds)
Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Finely crushed crackers 2 Cup (32 tbs) (oyster or Saltine)
Breadcrumbs 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (peanut, canola, or vegetable)
For tartar sauce:
Minced white onion 2 Tablespoon
Mayonnaise 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Minced dill pickles with juice 2 Tablespoon
For serving:
American cheese slice 6
White hamburger buns 6

1.Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.Place fish in a shallow dish and sprinkle lemon juice over it. Allow to marinate for 10 minutes.

3.Drain excess juice and milk to it. Lift pieces and dredge in breadcrumbs and cracker cumbs mixture. Dip in milk again and back again in crumbs. Place crumbs-coated fillets on baking sheet, pop into refrigerator and allow to set for 10 minutes to 3 hours.

4.For tartar sauce, combine onions, pickles, mayo, salt, white pepper in a small bowl and mix well. Refrigerate until assembling sandwich.

5.Heat oil in a skillet to approximately 350F. Fry the refrigerated fillets for 4-5 minutes (2 minutes per side) until golden brown. Drain excess oil and allow to cool.

6.Microwave buns for 10 seconds or until soft.

7.Place a slice of cheese on bottom of burger bun and top with fish fillet and tartar sauce.

8.Serve and enjoy!
