Fried Shrimp Po'Boy (Variation) with Spicy Remoulade Sauce

This is my take on a Fried Shrimp Po'Boy with a spicy remoulade sauce. Don't worry if you don't eat shrimp you can just as easily swap out the shrimp for oysters or your favorite fish. Be sure and give it a try this summer!

Ingredients

For remoulade sauce:
Mayonnaise 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Creole mustard 2 Tablespoon
Hot sauce 3 Teaspoon
Kosher salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Garlic clove 1 Large , minced
Green onions 2 , finely chopped
Grand diamond all purpose seasoning 1 Teaspoon
Prepared horseradish 3/4 Teaspoon
Fresh squeezed lemon juice 1 1/2 Teaspoon
For batter
Buttermilk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 2
Grand diamond all purpose seasoning 2 Traspoon
Granulated garlic 1 Teaspoon
For breading
Yellow cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
All purpose flour 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Grand diamond all purpose seasoning 2 Teaspoon
Cayenne pepper 1 Teaspoon
Kosher salt 2 Teaspoon
Other ingredient
Shrimp 2 Pound
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) ((For deep frying))
French bread 1
Shredded lettuce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Tomato 1 , sliced

Directions

 

GETTING READY

1. Preheat grill.

2. Mix together all ingredients of paprika mixture.

 

GETTING READY

1. In a bowl, combine all of ingredients for the Spicy Remoulade and mix well.  Refrigerate.

2. For the batter, combine all of the ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.

3. For the breading, combine all ingredients into a bowl and whisk to combine.

4. Place the shrimp  into the batter and let it stand for about 10 to 15 minutes.

 

MAKING

5. Heat oil in a pan to 350F.  Toss the shrimps in breading until well  coated. Allow to rest for 10 minutes.

6. Fry the shrimps until crisp and brown.

 

ASSEMBLING

7. Cut the bread horizontally into half and then into pieces.

8. Spread the prepared sauce on each side of the bread. place the lettuce on the bottom half of the sandwich followed by the tomatoes, and then top with the shrimp.

 

SERVING

9. Serve immediately with your choice of beverage.
